Job Description
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Trademark Specialist to join our growing team. This role involves managing clients’ trademark portfolios, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and providing strategic advice to safeguard intellectual property rights.
Key Responsibilities
1. Trademark Management
- Manage the end-to-end process of trademark and design registrations in India and internationally.
- File new applications electronically and monitor renewals to ensure timely actions.
2. Legal Compliance
- Ensure compliance with trademark laws and regulations by preparing and submitting required legal documents.
- Handle assignments, releases, and powers of attorney with precision.
3. Research and Analysis
- Conduct thorough trademark searches to evaluate the availability and registrability of proposed trademarks.
- Monitor third-party trademark usage and take necessary enforcement actions.
4. Client Collaboration
- Work closely with clients to provide guidance on trademark-related issues.
- Respond promptly to clearance requests, office actions, and other inquiries.
5. Portfolio Management
- Maintain and update trademark portfolios, including assignments and licensing agreements.
- Track deadlines to avoid delays in filings and renewals.
6. Dispute Resolution
- Manage oppositions, conflicts, and disputes regarding trademark registrations.
- Negotiate resolutions and handle infringement actions effectively.
Required Skills
- In-depth knowledge of Indian and international trademark laws.
- Proficiency in trademark database systems and electronic filing.
- Strong analytical and research skills, combined with excellent communication abilities.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple deadlines.
- Familiarity with trademark management tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
Qualifications
- Mandatory:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in trademark law or intellectual property management.
- Preferred:
- Advanced degree in Intellectual Property Law or Paralegal certification.
- Experience using trademark docketing systems.
